Meet Nikolas Henderson

I’m an applied economist at LSU’s Center for Economics, Business & Policy Research. I maintain regional indicators, support time-series forecasting projects (ARIMA/state-space—data prep, diagnostics, backtesting), and run input–output analysis (IMPLAN, RIMS II) to translate labor and public-finance trends into decision-ready briefs.

Spotlight

My Research

The following reports were produced in my role as an economist at the LSU Center for Economics, Business and Policy Research. To develop these reports, I applied Bayesian modeling and empirical economic analysis to inform policymakers and stakeholders across Louisiana. Using large datasets (BEA, BLS, Census) and software such as Stata and Excel, I generated more than 20 recurring economic indicators, including employment, wage growth, GDP by industry, and CPI.In the production of the following economic impact studies that i coauthored—such as the 2025 Super Bowl ($1B+ projected activity)—I applied input–output modeling (IMPLAN, RIMS II) and incorporating survey data to estimate tax revenue, industry multipliers, and sector growth. In addition, I conducted applied research on labor markets, industry trends, public finance, and demographics using input–output models and regional forecasting methods.

About Me

I’m an applied economist at LSU’s Center for Economics, Business & Policy Research. I maintain regional indicators, support time-series forecasting projects (ARIMA/state-space—data prep, diagnostics, backtesting), and run input–output analysis (IMPLAN, RIMS II) to translate labor and public-finance trends into decision-ready briefs. Recent work includes coauthoring statewide economic-impact studies (incl. the 2025 Super Bowl) and leading survey analytics (~10k responses) to estimate jobs, income, and tax revenue. I focus on reproducible methods, clear writing, and executive-ready one-pagers. M.S. in Applied Economics at Johns Hopkins (in progress).
